Vim Is Making Me a Better Programmer

The unexpected outcome of starting to adopt Vim as my editor: my willpower to tackle difficult problems is higher.

It’s a hacker’s editor. It takes a lot of fiddling to get it right. When I have to fiddle with my editor that deeply, I feel excited to tackle difficult problems at work. I’m more likely to automate stuff, less likely to give up easily.

Vim raises my pain tolerance, and primes me mentally to be a better developer.
